I've been stacking up my Winter shopping list although now we are expecting nice weather and I went out today in a fur gilet and knee high boots in 21 degree heat schvitzing! Any who, this is my shoes Winter lust list for Autumn/Winter 2014!
Tom Ford has focused on exotic skins, cowboy cuts and colour launching a new lease of life into the classic winter boot. Gucci has infused a sophisticated 60's vibe into these retro style black suede and rose snakeskin boots, it is amazing what a buckle can do! Russell and Bromley, well I could literally spend all day in the Harrogate store not only is it quite nostalgic when I used to buy my school shoes from there with my Granny. But the other reason being they are one of a few shoe retailers to stock the vast range of Stuart Weitzman boots that they do, in the non London area of the UK anyway and to my knowledge. I am literally drooling over these snakeskin tie up beauties; daring in pattern yet so classic in style what more could I ask for! Black mock croc patent leather is very popular at the moment, these day to night boots will see you through the colder days and nights in style.
BOOTY CALL!
The Aquazzura by Olivia Palermo collection, which by the way most of the range sold out on the first day! It is everything I imagined and more; elegant, stylish and classic just like Miss. Palermo. The grey Stuart Weitzman boots, that we all saw worn by the incredible Rosie Hunnington Whitely are just to die for. Grey is the colour for Autumn/Winter, especially this beautiful soft light grey and to be in boot form makes the grey layering trend an absolute dream to work!
I have to be honest I do have a weakness for thigh high hooker boots I just find them so empowering! What I like about the black Louboutin and pastel grey Ralph Lauren boots is that they have made what is typically quite a 'promiscuous' style; the thigh high tight fit, stiletto and pointed toe. Into an elegant and quite graceful pair of boots. Other designers have tried to steer away from the 'hooker' essence which I hold so dear with a block heel round or square toe, shorter length or material. Both designers have created a modern classic which both brands are obviously so reputable for. I am just in love with both pairs they are so feminine, empowering and chic. However, I suppose the word reasonably priced doesn't quite fit in!
The Givenchy boots have been a bloggers favourite season after season, I love this colour I don't exactly know when, where and what with I would wear them, maybe just for an #ootd? A £1,450 outfit of the day post is worth it right?! These Dune boots are great for everyday and extremely reasonable on price.
The Higher the Heel the Closer to God Kendall Jenner's height.
For winter I am obsessed with mules, detailed booties, bold colour and prints. Giuseppe Zanotti has gone above and beyond as usual. These metallic gold snakeskin print mules, which are also available in metallic silver are all I need for winter. I don't care if my toes fall off they are worth it! An instant glamorous touch to any outfit. I can not think of a piece of clothing these would not look drop dead gorgeous with. From jeans to cutlottes to skirts to dresses to morph suit to bin bags to newspaper to naked these mules would suit all! The price isn't that shockingly vulgar either and after that list I just spurted out of how many outfit uses these pair of insta-glam mules have, I think they are worth every penny.
Red is definitely another style statement colour of the season; in vibrant tones and that classic winter burgundy shade. Valentino's patent leather heels, strappy buckle shoe boots and crystal ombre pointed stilettos are the perfect updated version of your must have power pumps. Of course what would be a Valentino shoe without their signature studs?
Sophia Webster's collection of heels are so fashion forward and exciting. Although these Greta mules are more suited to a Spring/Summer vibe. I just love the vibrancy of the blue and orange contrasting with the black. Her daring detail; the thin black stiletto heel and black lace up mules. Almost emulating a sports luxe meets futuristic paint rave.
Tom ford plays around with heels and fastenings, the chain heel on the distressed dark tan leather pair I just can not cope with! Striking and powerful a person in any of these Tom Ford's is certainly not to be messed with.
Saint Laurent puts a modern spin on their classic Tribute shoes with a crocodile print in refreshing white and a nude pair ready to take us straight through from Winter to Spring. Cool camouflage is so popular among fbloggers right now. So a pair of Sam Eldeman's ultra chic, affordable, pointed toe, silver slash heel stilettos are an easy way to win points with the bloggers crowd. I'm really not into a wedge heel, I never have been. I know they are heaven for feet in comparison to a platform stiletto but I've just always found them quite, dare I say it, ugly. However, Giuseppe Zannoti has completely change my mind! So effortlessly cool, they would update any t shirt and jeans outfit all day everyday! Chanel and Gucci's black boots mean business sharp and sleek and will take you straight through from day till night. And then there was Prada, these leopard print mules are the epitome of an on trend high heel; the print of perfection and what I can see being the new 'it' heel of the year.
Fabulous Flats
Please don't judge me but I am slightly new to Charlotte Olympia, I had always heard of her incredible slightly wacky designs yet I have always wondered they may not be for me. However, as my style has evolved more and more I've steered away from my usual all black minimalistic look with a splash of my granny's old English tweed to expressing more of an adventurous look. The aesthetics of anything oriental infused are always pleasing to the eye from fashion to food to interior design. Oriental style is so enchanting, stunningly beautiful and sophistication. Maybe that is just influenced by my heritage (I'm Chinese, Malaysian and English)ok I'm sounding slightly biased now. So as you can tell I'm having a minor heart murmur over Charlotte Olympia's wonder of the orient themed collection.I don't want to say I hate flats because that would be too harsh. We just don't exactly get on, I mean I'm 5ft if that, so I think that reason is self explanatory and then you have my feet (get your sick bag ready) for one I look like I'm permanently wearing children's diving flippers they are so small but somehow so wide and just so flat. I have tried since I was like 14 to 'train my arch' whatever the f**k that means, I think it translates to severe pain, flat foot, bunions and karma from buying my first pair of heels on my mother's Karen Millen card i.e. I looked like I was wearing Big Foot's shuffling shoes, not ok. Anyway apologies for my slight meltdown over my height and unfortunate foot fiasco. God the word foot makes me cringe. Anyway!
Ferragamo and Gina present a substantial heel (they must feel my pain)that I could walk in everyday but still gives me a little boost to the grand height of 5ft. Gina came over all glitz and glam. Whislt also being a great alternative to heels for a tall girls night out (shutup, I can live in hope). Ferragamo's suede slightly Chanel inspired version without sounding rude are a gorgeous friendlier priced version of the Chanel pearl pair except I prefer the heel height and gold detailing of these.
Tom Ford, Valentino and Aquazzura's prints are on point, literally all sporting a pointed toe with leopord and snake print adding some fire to flats for a change.(Throw away those black dollies already!)Of course my favourite winter nail varnish colours Chanel Rouge Noir burgandy and Essie Allure nude had to find their way into my dream wardrobe with these Chanel and Valentino beauties. The classic Valentino stud with this burgandy is my personal taste perfection. Recently the heel of shoes have been more of a statement than the actual shoes! The addition of pearls and patent leather gives a classic twist to an already classic dream team pair of Chanel flats. And who doesn't want a Chanel sign this obvious on their shoes?! Hello, I know I do!
The high street edition.
Ok and now we may move on, so I recently discovered a brand called Jessica Buurman. Currently I am not 100% impressed with them, As I am still waiting on my boots which you can see on my instagram. However, they have given me a refund on shipping and a 15% discount refund with an additional 10% discount for my next order so I cannot complain too much. If you do want to order from order well in advance, like a month well in advance. A lot of their collection is designer inspired as you can see and some pieces can be on the over priced side, for example these pink lace slip ons.
New Look always has some gems amongst their shoe section and are so budget friendly. Cute gold chain slip ons for less than £20, how can you not?! These sparkle satin silver Steve Madden inspired numbers are brilliant for the Christmas period. I have to say it's not that I wasn't impressed with ASOS's shoe section but I just find there wasn't much there for my personal taste, a lot of thick chunky heels which I am not very keen on. However, I can imagine wearing these orange heels everywhere with everything. Jeans, white tee and a matching orange scuba biker jacket. Perfect for those inbetween days where summer hasn't quite left us yet! The pink booties are adorable and tie in with the 60's chic and 70's geek trend coming for the autumn winter season. Zara never lets me down because their style is so classic and delivers a luxury designer look. Great for someone like me who is on a budget but just cannot help spend their last penny on a designer item.
I wouldn't usually look at Miss Guided for shoes, I love their clothes it's just they also tend to have quite a lot of chunky heel style shoes. The black tassel wedge boots are another all rounder that can be worn with anything, very boho supermodel chic. Definitely an easy instant style staple for winter. The nude pink tie up pair are certain to stand out on a night out, an impeccable match for a plain LBD or LWD.
Kurt Geiger and Carvela design such beautiful and good quality shoes. I think it is one of those brands that you can justify paying extra for the quality and high fashion inspired designs that you receive. Just Fab is Kimora Lee's brand so for that alone you know it is going to be one to watch. All shoes are £35 and they always have amazing different offers on sometimes even buy one get one free!! YES you read that right. Stiletto heel plus mock croc patent leather plus a snow proof heel equals 100% perfect shoes for winter. Fluffy feet and flirty pinks fluttered onto the runways of A/W 2014 and I am not surprised that Topshop snapped up this trend with this fabulous pair of block heels, very cutesy and would go perfectly with my River Island mock croc skirt which you can see here.
There is no reason why you can not treat yourself to a new pair of shoes. Everything5pounds.com justifies that statement! There are always little surprises, like these black pointed stilettos with crystal detail and beige loafer block heels great for the office. It's sort of like an online Primark or Tkmaxx, in the sense that you need to be prepared to rummage through.
