Diorskin Nude Tan & Mac Sheertone Blush Review
Diorskin Nude Tan Bronzer
In contrast to my review on the Diorskin
Forever foundation which you can read here; I love this bronzer. Marketed as a product that is aimed at those of us who desire the 'warmed by
the sun' glow. I chose the classic colour 003 Cinnamon at an attempt to achieve the subtle ski chalet bronzed look.
The packaging is typical of any designer
brand; elements of ultimate luxury. A beautiful mirror compact with the
signature Lady Dior handbag design imprinted on the compact lid. The dark navy
velvet case keeps the compact scratch free and is just another touch of unexpected opulence. Complete with a small handbag size kabuki brush that gives great
application. What more could I ask for from a bronzer? The only downside is the brush leaving small hairs on your
face. The 'nude' lettering on the bronzer is another classic signature of Diorskin makeup.
Now to the actual product, in terms of
colour I chose the 003 Cinnamon which is a deep rich brown with slightly orange
undertones. I have a mild olive skintone. this colour is very flattering on my skin; sometimes I just use bronzer and a
little concealer for a natural everyday look.
Matte bronzers are such an investment, a shimmer bronzer can be alluring and you would naturally think that would be the type of product to create the desired sun kissed glow. They are very buildable and can create everything from a subtle sheen to a harsh contour. If you try to do the same with a shimmer based bronzer you will end up looking like a golden Christmas bauble! However, although advertised as a matte product, it does have the teeniest tiniest of light shimmer to it which is such a bonus feature for people who need a quick fix product and it doesn't affect the build ability I've been blabbing on about. A combination of a style staple and high quality wearable product; what more does a girl need? You can buy this straight from Boots here.

Mac Sheertone Powder Blush
I have only just started wearing blusher
over the last year. I chose the Mac Sheertone Blush in Breathe of Plumb
because they have such a high pigmented powder therefore prolonging the life of
the blush; which is true! I bought this blush in November 2013 and it
still looks brand new.
The packaging is standard of MAC simple
and sleek allowing the product to speak for itself. I was slightly disappointed
with the quality. The see through part of the lid has broken off quite a few
times but is easily pushed back in. I found out recently about the 'Back
to MAC' scheme which shows MACs' commitment to the environment if you
return at least 6 empty primary packaging containers you will not only be doing
your bit for the environment but receive a free lipstick too! (It's ok I know you
just peed a little too.)
Breathe of Plumb is exactly what it sounds
like; a darker pink with plumb undertones. For my skintone this colour is
a perfect match for my skin and even more so when I have a spray tan. I
wouldn't recommend this to fairer skins, the colour is too harsh; the buffoons
bottom look is definitely not chic! Light pinks and reds don't tend to suit me
and has the opposite effect of what a blusher is supposed to do; wash me out.
This deep pink purple colour creates a lovely warm skin tone and an
invigorating healthy glow. I have very dry skin so I was pleasantly surprise for once when a powder didn't disintegrate any natural glow into a
black hole. Overall, I would say this is a must have beauty buy for anybody's
makeup bag! You can buy straight from MAC for £18 here.
Application
When applying bronzer I start from
just above my temple in light circular motions down to my cheekbones; I once saw this on a Chanel's Youtube channel. I find this technique helps to avoid patches between my forehead and cheekbones. Then sweep up from
the bottom of my cheekbones up to the outer corners of my eyes back to my
temples; adding a small amount of bronzer from the eyes to the temples
illuminates my face. It takes me literally 2 seconds to apply my blusher; I use a soft blusher brush and lightly sweep onto the apples of my cheeks, along my cheekbones and over my forehead.
To contour my nose, jawline and neck I use a softer smaller brush. I blend from the back of my ear to under my jawline then lift and tense my neck a sweep over my collar bone up to my neck bones. Creating a defined effect and a believable match to your skintone. For my nose I use a small angle brush from the tip of my nose up along the sides and blend with a buffing brush. I never apply bronzer to the bridge of the nose as this is the area I try to highlight.
