Make A Dream in association with L.K.Bennett.

Fashion & Fizz with Make A Dream and L.K.Bennett

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending L.K.Bennett's Fashion and Fizz event, sponsoring Make A Dream; one of the largest charities in the North of England which makes literally any dream come true for sick and terminally ill children. L.K.Bennett supported this cause by holding an after hours shopping evening. Which included 20% discount to spend in store, goodie bags for everyone who purchased and a 3 model catwalk displaying the top picks from the A/W collection. Cheeseboard also donated a lovely selection of cheeses and crackers to accompany the fizz and juice provided by the store.

L.K.Bennett's Autumn/Winter collection was full of reds, creams, blues, mustards and of course, the colour of the season; grey! Bold art prints, leopard, lace and fur took centre stage. Blanket wraps, coloured sheepskin scarves, gold handbags and bold coloured exotic skin handbags featured in accessories.
I have to say L.K.Bennett's shoe collection is lovely but not exactly to my taste. Yet, of course I managed to find more than a few pairs that caught my eye. Curves, glamour and bold colours played a large role in the stiletto department. I prefer something a little more exciting when it come to boots. However, some of the riding Hermès inspired pairs are great for an everyday classic look.Whilst flats pointed all things North with a cooler spin on the classics, I was surprised to see slip on shoes and almost high tops! An artsy monochrome dominated the smarter selection of flats. However, that doesn't mean L.K.Bennett hasn't completely steered away from the norm. Sweet ballerinas and heeled dolly shoes make room for the basic shoe always needed in any ladies' wardrobe.

My Favourite Pieces From The Collection

'Master the art of layering' with this beautiful creamy beige gilet. Pair with a cream polo neck and crepe cream trousers with nude heels for instant Ralph Lauren chic. Made from a 100% sheepskin, I recently learned this gilet is completely reversible; one side can be worn as this sumptuous shearling and the other side a beautiful, buttersoft sheepskin suede. Also available in black the Meribel gilet is bound to keep you wrapped up well for Winter.

Copper gold has featured throughout the Autumn Winter season from homeware to clothing to makeup it is definitely a style statement to snap up quickly. I fell in love with this leather tote, versatility seems to be a running theme through the L.K.Bennett collection. This bag can also be worn two ways. the winged panels either side can transform the bag into a completely different shape and size; voilà! You have a two bags for the price of one! Made from texturised leather, a raw leather lining and an L.K.Bennett metal attached logo, this could easily be your new spacious staple Autumn tote.

These photos really do not do the Faye crystal embellished stilettos justice. I like how the ombre fade of the sparkle keeps the shoe understated and tasteful. The curved edges and mesh insert are a flattering modern update to a classic black pump. I always buy pointed toe shoes because I'm so short I find that they elongate legs more so than a round or god for bid square toe shoe.

I adore these style statement scarves! Made from 100% Mongolian sheepskin get cosy with the Luxe sheepskin scarf in this eye catching deep red and charcoal grey. We saw all types of sheepskin and coloured fur on the runway for A/W 14 a great addition to up date your wardrobe for Winter. The burgundy has already sold out online so hurry down to your local L.K.Bennett store before the grey is snapped up too!

Make A Dream

There are so many worthy causes to donate to, yet this charity is very close to my heart. I know family members and friends that have been affected by cancer and terminal illnesses and I know how painful the process is not just physically but mentally too. So can you imagine how confusing and hard that is for a child to deal with? I know I can't. If you could make that child's dream come true, if you could put a smile on that child's face and take their mind off treatment and hospitals would you? Of course you would and that is why this charity is a vital source of support not only for the child but for their families too.

If you would like more information on the charity or you are in a position to support the charity in anyway please visit their website http://www.makeadream.org/ or stay up to date with them on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/MakeADreamCharity

If you are a business or organisation that feels they could greatly contribute to Make A Dream, a Gala Dinner will be held at Elland Road in Leeds on the 6th of November. Celebrity guests such as Nick Hewer, Dr. Magaret Mountford and Alistar McGowan will be attending. There are also a variety of very exciting auction items. All proceeds obviously go directly to the charity and help make that dream come true so if you can support in anyway please do, Make A Dream greatly appreciates it!
