Carpe Diem Capri

Capri is one of my favourite places in the world to visit, I would love to grow old there with a chic exclusive boutique and a little pomeranian running around with my crocodile Hermés adorning my arm. One can dream!

We arrived firstly at Naples from the cruise ship and took a life altering hydrafoil to Capri (literally I thought I was going to throw my insides up) anyway back to the picturesque scenery. After the painful hour long sea sickness endurance assault course of a boat ride we took what I can only describe as an open window/door taxi.

The journey up to the top of the island where all of the fabulous shops and restaurants are, is an exhilarating winding road could-touch-the-hair-on-the-girl's-hand-on-the-motorbike-next-time-me ride. This taxi ride is when I really feel like I am on a journey to a little haven in the sky, I look back at the beautiful post card worthy scenery and pass by the everyday life of Capri.
We park opposite the Sea Gull homeware and crockery boutique at the taxi station next to the bus stop. Strolling along I see my first designer photo op the Prada store (eek!) and then the list goes on.

My bag on the right hand corner behind the clutch!

These shoes and evening clutch!!!!!

I am obsessed with these mules!

The jewellery in Capri is the main attraction for me, even though there are so many beautiful designer clothes boutiques the jewellery is just on another level of jaw dropping.

Diamonds are forever... so are emeralds, rubies, sapphires and every other shiny stone!

I love this display case it was so magical at  Chantecler, but I took so an awful photo apologies!

There is such beautiful scenery of the sea and the rest of the island once you get to the top where I was, though it is probably not known as the 'top' that is just my name for it. If you do ever go to Capri, I would definitely advise getting a taxi straight to the centre of the island, I am sure there is much more to see than what I am reviewing, this is just what I prefer to do on holiday!

Taxi station and port

This is the part of the island where you will come straight from the hydrafoil port, this is a lovely Cafe/Restaurant where we usually pick up a drink before the dreaded trip back.

The first 'square' of the centre of Capri, great for scenery photos and you starting point for shopping!

A lot of restaurants in another small square part and small boutiques dispersed throughout.

A typical quaint looking street in Capri, ironically filled with all sorts of extravagant stores and art galleries.

Overall, Capri and Cannes were my absolute favourite places to visit, unless you want to see some of the history in Naples I would advise going straight to Capri by hydrafoil they usually come every half an hour but the times did change last time we were there.
Capri is such a magical place, that sounds so cheesy but it really is the only word I can use to describe it. You feel as if time stands still, I could sit for days watching people go by, lunching and shopping. If you are a shopaholic or designer dreamer, all the stores have such character and beauty.

Like I've said the jewellery (for me anyway) is the main attraction such unusual, incredible and innovative (if I can use that word in this context) pieces. The shop adjacent to Prada, La Fiorente is a well known historic landmark of jewellers in Capri, the window displays with the silver accents in the photos above are La Fiorente jewellers.

Where to eat you ask? The truth is I don't know what the restaurant is called that we always go to I have parma ham and melon with fresh orange juice everytime (I like to keep it light because of the hydrafoil). There are an array of restaurants placed throughout the centre and near the port, great places to sit outside and people watch.

If you are waiting for the hydrafoil to Capri and have some time to wait, there is a cafe opposite the ticket offices, GO TO THE ONE BEHIND IT! The cafe at the front is fine for a less than mediocre sandwhich or pasta pot made from microwaved penne shaped sick (no offence).

Finishing on a much nicer note, Capri is definitely somewhere I could spend a long weekend or even a week I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic holiday for couples and families. There are a lot of cobbles on uneven streets so I wouldn't recommend heels or flat flats either!
