Handbags at dawn
In the early 2000's we saw the rise of the 'it' bag along with an accessory 'it' girl to match. Designers introduced a more affordable accessibility to high street admirers through their accessories yet still feeding the frow fanatics with another fashion cult piece for them to gabble over. Handbags are more than a statement piece, they are an essential part of anybody's wardrobe; fashionista or not. However, how boring would it be if I talked about the practicalities of a handbag? Hello this is a style blog! So I'm going to delve into how to add a luxury essence to your wardrobe through accessories.

In the last few years materials of handbags have evolved from cloth or black and tan leather to innovative components like PVC plastics, embellishment, coloured leather and exotic skins. Snakeskin and crocodile have recently become more popular to the exclusive rich fashion crowd. As there are so many people whom can easily obtain luxury designer items at second hand prices or even rent them. There always has to be another level for the connoisseurs of the designer fashion world in which seperates them from an average Michael Kors Selma Joe. So if you want others to know that you are in another league, you will definitely stand out with a rare exotic-skin and even more so with jewel encrusted hardware like diamonds and emeralds.
These handbags are more of a statement of your wealth and connections in the industry; these types of handbags are not very easy to find! Think Dorothy Wang, Real Housewives of Miami, the Kardashians, Lisa Vanderpump they all embody wealth and luxury fashion. For the exuberant shopper no handbag especially a Hermès is complete without it's own collection of add-ons from the infamous Hermès silk scarves adorning the handles to the draping of handbag chains no amount of added opulence is enough.
There are many ways to create opulence through accessories without breaking the bank.Be smart with how and what you purchase. Silk scarves are a classic inexpensive buy, you can source beautiful scarves from charity shops and vintage shops. Tie them to the handles of your bag, drape them over your white blazer, even wrap smalls ones around your wrists as bracelets.
If you are feeling brave go bold by adding artwork like hand drawn paintings, graffiti and printing. An instant inexpensive chic refreshment for an old tote. Psss... if your drawing skills stretch from stick man to stick man with a hat you might want to do outsource this, Boyarde is well known for her pop art on Louis Vuitton and Hermés handbags. If you can't afford the price tag, contact your local arts college or look for artists on social media like Instagram.

Colour is a free method when keeping up with designer trends. You can do no harm with classic black, neutral or white. Tan/brown has definitely made a comeback parading the catwalks for Autumn/Winter. Currently pastels are very popular and electric or powder blue are wardrobe staples that are here to stay.
Chanel's rouge noir nail polish colour will always stay a classic for Autumn/Winter. I adore this Céline crocodile belt bag in burgundy. Fierce yellows and oranges help us to hang onto our summer memories, whilst lending a pop of colour to your winter LBD (though this winter is more LRD - Little Red Dress).
Jewel encrusted embellishment enhanced handbags at
Chanel's Haute couture show. Chunky crystal chains should dress up straps and edgings of handbags. Attach OTT embroidery and crystal motifs or go the extra mile with tweed to nail the Chanel look.

Swamp mini bags in multi-coloured Swarvoski crystals (yes I did just say that) and bulky studs to present a sharp Valentino edge.
Copious amounts of real and faux fur, especially shearling flourished on the catwalks in an array of colours and styles. Accomplish this look with your own take on this trend, use fur pieces and fluffy fabrics to add a cuddly coat or scarf to handbags, wrap coloured furs around necks boobs and wrists.
Food for thought at Moschino and Chanel whilst House of Holland and Anya Hindmarch gave a 60's pop art feel with their array of novelty clutches. Achieve this look with transfers (when using leather, use a transfer for dark materials) you can get some on eBay for less than £5!

Play around with different textiles, beading and even jewellery like bracelets and necklaces. I always think any sort of gold, silver, jewel or even pearl looking attachment gives an opulent finish to accessories. Try not to go too overboard you don't want to be confused for a pearly king or queen (or maybe you do? Sinha-Stanic did it!).
Personalise handbags with a custom made handbag charm made by you, yes you! I love the Olga Hermès charm alas, not everyone has £403/$690 to spend on one.
I have scoured the online retailers for a variety of #ontrendnow handbags.
Dream Bags of the Month

I am in absolute awe of this handbag, the incredible creation by Hermés named the Kelly after the legendary Grace Kelly. The vibrancy and richness of the colour and alligator skin, contrasting with the classic shape and style of the Hermés Kelly qualifies this handbag for my dream bag of the month!
Verging on speechless whilst attempting to describe the Lady Dior in burgundy hand crafted with crocodile skin. Haled as a work of art, the details of the silver jewellery and essence of ultimate opulence pouring from colour to material I can clearly understand why. The Lady Dior white deerskin printed with a pink alstromeria flower, the alstromeria is associated with devotion and friendship and as said by Dior ties in with the superstition of the great Monsieur Dior. The beauty of the print down to the handles, a blissful elegance of a bag. I have to say these two are my dream bags of the year.
